The fragment catalogued as an “unidentified religious treatise in Anglo-Norman verse” is a third French verse version of the Vision of Tnugdal, distinct from the Dublin and Luxembourg poems.
Confirmed: A named specialist in the field has confirmed the identification. Confirmed by Mattia Cavagna, editor of the French versions of the Vision of Tnugdal.
Four pages, from the Lucifer episode to the Field of Joy, dated in the catalogue to England, c. 1300–1350. The poem is in octosyllabic couplets and follows Marcus’s Latin Visio Tnugdali closely.
Until now two French verse witnesses were known: Dublin, Trinity College 312, and a short fragment in Luxembourg. Both are in alexandrine laisses.
